  • We have new White Station Middle School yard signs! The signs are just $10.00 and can be purchased in the library. The new signs are green, black and white with “Spartan Strong” on both sides. Show your school spirit today by purchasing a sign.
  • Do you need a grade t-shirt or new mesh bag? If the answer is yes, we have them in the library. T-shirts and mesh bags are just $5.00. The proceeds goes to the Library Book Fund. Stop by the library and help support your school.
  • All ABES and International Club members who have started paying on their trip to Niagara Falls Canada should have all payments made by March 1, 2018.  This is a firm deadline for completion of all payments.  Please see Mr. B. Jones if you have concerns or questions.
  • We are collecting money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Our goal this year is $2018.  We will collect the entire month of February.  We have a contest going for the homeroom who collects the most.  We will also have a contest to raise the most money to stick a staff member to a wall by purchasing a foot of duct tape for $1.  This will be an event to see on Field Day.  Please support us in allowing your child to dig coins out of the couch and do choirs for coins all to support those who are less fortunate than we may be.
  • There are several activities regarding eighth grade transition to high school occurring this month and next month.
    • Tuesday, February 27th- Parent information meeting at White Station Middle School. This meeting will occur at 6:00 p.m. and you will be provided information regarding course requirements, 9th grade courses available, and general information about the Freshman Academy.  This meeting is for all parents of eighth grade students.
  • Thursday, March the 1st- Parent information meeting regarding Advanced Placement courses. This meeting will be held at White Station High School at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is required for any parent/student wishing for their child to participate in AP courses during their 9th grade year.  The meeting is open for anyone desiring information about AP courses for future planning.   Advanced Placement courses require an application process and various documents, essays, and teacher recommendations dependent on the course desired.  If you are interested in Advanced Placement courses, this is a meeting you will want to attend.
    • Four-Year Plans- I will be meeting with all students February 5th, 6th, and/or 7th, to assist them with their Four-Year High School plans.  We will be discussing requirements for high school graduation and many of the electives available.  Your child will bring their plan home to review with you.  This plan is a guide for your child.  The plan does not become your child’s schedule, rather the plan guides their decision making as they select high school coursework.  Your child will bring their plan home for your review and signature.  Students will return the plan to their U.S. History teacher.  This plan does not indicate any particular high school.  We will be discussing the state requirements for graduation.

    • Freshman Course Selection – A high school counselor from White Station High School will be meeting with all students after the parent meeting, February the 27th.  Students will receive information regarding White Station High School and have an opportunity to have their questions answered.  Students will select their courses for high school.  This process will be completed on the computer and will be available through PowerSchool.  I will send additional instructions to parents after they are received.
